Scope and Contents

This collection contains a scrapbook from Maude Zallee Jefferis. This scrapbook primarily contains messages, autographs, photographs, drawings, and paintings from her classmates at Soldan High School in St. Louis, Missouri. There are also two groups of photos in the collection which were found in the scrapbook. These include senior photographs of Zallee Jeffries’s classmates, as well as some older photographs of babies, which are unidentified.

Biographical / Historical

Maude Isabelle Zallee Jefferis was born on September 30, 1901, and attended Soldan High School in St. Louis, Missouri, where she graduated in 1919. On August 11, 1927, she married Alva Jefferis, with whom she built the Pine Hill Drive In Movie Theater and operated the movie theater in Piedmont, Missouri. Jefferis passed away in Overland Park, Kansas on November 17, 1993.
