Abell Family Bible
Akes Family Bible
The first page of records states, “Peter Akes his Bible May 2nd 1830.” The family Bible contains names and dates of births, marriages, and deaths of the Akes family. Several handwritings indicate different people recorded the dates in the Bible over time. The Bible is missing the front and back cover as well as many of the Bible pages. All of the family record pages between the Old and New Testaments remained intact.
Bass Family Bible
The family register in the middle of the Bible begin with the marriage of William Albert Bass and Ann Joyce Burroughs. The pages contain pedigree charts for the father’s family and the mother’s family. Other pages include information about children and grandchildren as well as pages to record things to remember.
Bickerstaff Family Bible
Bushner Family Bible
This collection consists of the family Bible for the John BUSHNER family. This Bible contains family records for births, marriages, and deaths for John, his wife Charlotte SCHWEITZER, and their children. The records also contain information on individuals with the following surnames: CLAY, SCHWEITZER, and TIPTON. Also included in this collection are the scanned family record pages, items found within the Bible, and a family unit chart.
Caldwell Family Bible
Most of the family Bible records are in the same handwriting. The Bible include Caldwell, Cooper, Scott, and Darnell families from Dover, Lafayette, Missouri. Record of births, marriages, and deaths are written on the family record pages of the Bible. Also included on the record sheets are a handwritten epitaph and a handwritten obituary.
Cumberland Presbyterian Church Bible
This collection consists of the Bible donated to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church [Independence, MO] from the “Ladies of Jackson County.” This Bible was published in 1845 in Hartford, Connecticut by St. Andrus & Son Publishing. The main title pages as well as the first pages of the Old Testament are missing. In addition to the Bible, the collection contains a note found within the Bible and a scanned copy of the cover.
D. F. Bone Diary
This collection is digital images only. The owner of the original diary and family Bible loaned the items to the library to be digitized. The collection consists of a diary written by D. F. Bone during the year 1900. Both images of the diary and a transcription are included. Several pages from D.F. Bone’s family Bible including all the family record sheets with birth, marriage and death information about the Bone and Cox family have been digitized and included in the collection.
Doty Family Bible
This collection consists of the family Bible for the William Henry Doty Family. This Bible contains the family records for births, marriages, and deaths for William Henry, his wife Virginia McClung Doty, and their children. Also included in this collection is a family unit chart.
