The Livesay/Livesey name originated in Lancashire, England as far back as 780 AD. In the United States, the Livesays descendants can trace their name back to John Livesay and his wife Joan, through one of their sons: William Lifsey in Brusnwick County, Virginia in the 1700s. Now there are over 60 different spellings of the name with family members living all over the United States and in the United Kingdom.
