Scope and Contents
This collection consists of a scrapbook compiled by Ethel White Earles from items clipped from the Liberty [MO] Tribune newspaper. These clippings range from the 1940s to 1950s. The contents include Clay County Cemeteries, Memoirs of Mrs. Melonda Estes, Old Folks Tales by Robert Withers, Recollections of Life in Liberty by W.F. Carpenter, My Scrapbook by H.H. King, Mt. Memorial Cemetery at William Jewell College, and Graves in Price Cemetery.

Biographical / Historical
Ethel White was born in Missouri in 1893 to James and Lora White. James and Lora had another daughter, Grace, in 1895. Ethel married John Earls in Clay County, Missouri. John and Ethel had one son, David, in 1928. Ethel lived her life in Clay County and participated in many community organizations, including the Alexander Doniphan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Ethel passed away on July 4, 1965 and was buried in Liberty, Clay County, Missouri.
