Erlene Huckins Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection primarily documents Erlene Huckins’ participation in the Missouri State-Wide Beauty Pageant at the First Annual Jubilesta Celebration in Kansas City, Missouri in 1936. Huckins represented the city of Sedalia, Missouri as Miss Pettis County, and competed for the title of Miss Missouri in this pageant. The collection contains materials related to this event, including membership documents, correspondence, newspaper clippings, programs, menus, and newsletters. There is also a copy of the book From the Ball-Room to Hell (1894) by T.A. Faulkner.
