Collection: Mid-Continent Public Library Collection

Scope and Contents

This collection contains materials related to Mid-Continent Public Library (MCPL). This collection contains issues of “MCPL Mini News,” a newsletter containing inter-branch news for employees of MCPL from 1970-1985. There are also a handful of items related to the Genealogy Department at the North Independence Branch of MCPL, before the Midwest Genealogy Center (MGC) was established. This includes a few pamphlets as well as Genealogy in the Heartland, a catalog of genealogical materials held at the North Independence Branch of MCPL from 1990-1994. Items related specifically to the Midwest Genealogy Center are currently part of a separate collection (identifier MGC1067).
