1870 Census

This collection contains records collected and created by the Jackson County Genealogical Society in Jackson County, Missouri. The bulk of the collection is a series of family history records compiled by the Genealogical Society and its members. These files include family trees, descendant charts, and other materials used in the research of these family lines. The collection also contains a series on Jackson County schools, which contains historic documents and photographs of various schools within the county. The collection contains many materials used in the research of genealogy, as well as materials that the Society and its members wrote about various historical topics. Items in the Civil War series are materials on the subject of the U.S. Civil War rather than materials from the war or the time period itself. The collection also contains scrapbooks, cemetery information, census information, and various information on topics of history local to the Kansas City region. The collection also contains some written works and materials related to various events put on by the Genealogical Society.
